Keep A Good Log of Your Progress and Goals

All throughout the workouts, Tony Horton urges you to "write it down" when it comes to weights and reps on each exercise. Great advice, and absolutely crucial. However, there's a larger "grid" that I used to provide a more "macro" picture of where I was going with my P90x journey. This was a spreadsheet that ran through all 90 days, and helped me map the days of the week I would be doing certain workouts. Also, I put weight loss goals in one column every week. Knowing my past experience and metabolism, I figured that weekly goals of 3 pounds was very realistic. So I charted out the weight loss I wanted to have each week, and worked hard to make sure I hit it. To me, there's something very motivating about seeing the goal weight for yourself on a specific date 30, 60 and 90 days later. Also, when you map out the program for the whole 90 days, it allows you to tweak certain weeks where you might be traveling and unable to work out. Perhaps skip a day. Perhaps workout through your one rest day in order to have two days off in a row next week. And so on...

Czabe,

I recently converted to the iphone and went app searching for a P90x app.  Suprisingly, the geniuses at Beach Body have not come up with their own app.

I did find FT90.  It's pretty good. Only a few bucks.  Tracks all the work outs, measurements, etc.  Allows you to mess with your schedule and so on.  Might work for you.  (I hold no affiliation with this app, don't get paid by them, etc. etc.)
